Terms of service
1. Who you are contracting with
Bramley Education, a sole trader based at The Belgrave Mill, Mill 1, Fitton Hill Road, off Honeywell Lane, Oldham OL8 2LB, England. Contact: info@bramleyeducation.com.
The contract is between us and the parent or guardian who books, not the pupil.
2. What we provide
- One-to-one online mathematics tuition, delivered by video call.
- Lessons last 60 minutes.
- Lessons are weekly, at a time agreed with you and held for you each week.
- Teaching is planned around your child’s exam board and tier.
- All lessons are taught personally by Abdullah Akbar. We will not substitute another tutor without agreeing it with you first.
We do not guarantee any particular grade or examination outcome. Results depend on the pupil’s starting point, attendance, independent practice and other factors outside our control.
3. Fees and payment
- Tuition is £300 per calendar month. This covers a weekly 60-minute one-to-one lesson at an agreed time, a priority plan drawn from the pupil’s own papers, a practice set after each lesson, a written progress note to the parent each month, and a written review after the first six lessons.
- The fee is flat. It does not increase in a month containing five lessons, and it is not reduced in a month containing fewer.
- Payment is monthly, in advance, covering the month ahead.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. There is no joining fee and no package to buy upfront.
- We will give at least 30 days’ written notice before changing the rate for an existing client.
4. Cancelling an individual lesson
- You may move any lesson by giving at least 24 hours’ notice. We will reschedule it within the same month where a slot is available.
- With less than 24 hours’ notice the lesson cannot usually be rescheduled, because the slot is held exclusively for your child and cannot be filled at short notice. The monthly fee is not reduced in that case.
- If we cancel a lesson, we will offer a replacement slot. Where no replacement can be arranged, that month’s fee is reduced proportionately.
5. Ending the arrangement
You may stop at any time by telling us before the start of the next monthly period. There is no minimum term, no notice period beyond that, and no cancellation fee.
Your statutory right to cancel. Because this contract is made at a distance, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day the contract is made in which you may cancel for any reason and receive a refund. If you ask us to begin lessons within those 14 days, you may still cancel, but we may charge for lessons already delivered. This right is in addition to the arrangements in clause 4.
6. What we ask of you
- A quiet space and a working device, camera and internet connection for the lesson.
- That the pupil attends on time and attempts any work agreed between lessons.
- That a parent or guardian is contactable during lessons, as the pupil is under 18.
7. Safeguarding
- Abdullah Akbar holds an Enhanced DBS certificate with a Children’s Barred List check, issued 1 August 2026, for the child workforce. Nothing is recorded on the police record or either barred list. The certificate is available to view on request.
- Lessons are one-to-one and online, with the parent or guardian as the client.
- We ask that lessons take place in a shared family space rather than a bedroom where possible.
- Parents are welcome to be present, or to see any lesson materials, at any time.
- We will never contact a pupil privately on personal social media.
- Any safeguarding concern will be raised with you, and where necessary with the appropriate authorities.
8. Progress reporting
After the first six lessons we provide a short written summary of what has been covered, what has held and what has not, together with a genuine option to stop if it is not working.
9. Liability
We provide tuition with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for examination results. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
10. Complaints and governing law
Please raise any concern with us first at info@bramleyeducation.com; we aim to respond within five working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
