Mock papers, exercise books and the pupil’s own account are read together to separate recurring misunderstandings from careless one-off slips. The two need very different treatment.
Teach it so it transfers
The underlying idea is explained and modelled, then practised across questions that look different on the surface — because that is the form the exam will take.
Prove it held — or change the plan
Earlier topics are revisited under exam conditions to test what genuinely stuck. If it has not held, the plan changes rather than repeating. Parents get a short, honest account either way.

Other services de-risk the decision by promising a specific grade. Bramley will not do that, because it depends on factors no tutor controls. What can be promised is that you are never locked into something that is not working.
No long contract
Lessons are paid monthly, not booked as a term or a package. If you want to stop, give notice before the next monthly period begins.
Move a lesson when life happens
Ask at least 24 hours before a lesson and it can be moved within the same month where a replacement slot is available. With less notice, it usually cannot be rearranged and the monthly fee is unchanged.
A written review you can act on
After the first six lessons you get a short written summary of what has been covered, what has held and what has not — and a genuine invitation to stop if it is not working.
Is this the right fit?

Then the useful question is what the previous support actually changed, and why it did not hold. The fit call is largely about working that out before anything is proposed.
“There isn’t much time left.”
Limited time makes prioritising more important, not less. It also makes it more important to be honest about what is realistic in the weeks available.
“My child resists extra work.”
Common, and usually about confidence rather than effort. Worth raising on the call, because it changes how the teaching should be pitched.
“Will you promise a grade?”
No. Outcomes depend on starting point, attendance, practice and factors outside any tutor’s control. Bramley offers a clear method and honest reporting instead.

How is this different from an ordinary tutor?
An ordinary hour tends to cover whatever came up that week. Bramley’s intent is that each session is chosen from evidence — the papers and errors themselves — and that the reasoning behind that choice is visible to parents.
Is this only for Year 10 and 11?
This offer and booking route are specifically for Year 10 and Year 11 pupils doing GCSE Maths. Bramley may teach a younger pupil by separate arrangement, but this landing page is not advertising that service.
What actually happens on the 20-minute call?
A conversation about the current concern, the evidence that already exists, the timescale, and whether this approach is appropriate. It is not a lesson and not a full diagnostic assessment.
Do you guarantee a particular grade?
No. A guarantee would not be honest. Bramley can offer a clear method, focused teaching and straightforward reporting — not a promised number.
Which exam boards and tiers are covered?
All major GCSE exam boards, at both Foundation and Higher tier. Tell me which board and tier your child is entered for on the call and the teaching is planned around that specification.
How long is a lesson, and how often?
Sixty minutes, once a week, at the same time each week. A protected regular slot matters more than occasional longer sessions.
How does payment work, and can I cancel?
Lessons are paid monthly rather than as a package, so there is no long contract. Ask at least 24 hours before an individual lesson and it can be rescheduled within the same month where a replacement slot is available. You can end tuition before the next monthly period begins, with no cancellation fee.
What does it cost?
£300 a month. That covers a weekly 60-minute one-to-one lesson at the same protected time, a priority plan built from your child’s own papers, a practice set after every lesson, a written progress note to you each month, and a written review after six lessons. It is a flat fee, so it does not go up in a month that happens to contain five lessons. Billed monthly in advance. There is no joining fee, no package to buy upfront and no minimum term.
Is my child too far behind for this to help?
That is exactly what the call is for. Sometimes the honest answer is that a different kind of support would serve them better, and you will be told that rather than sold a package.
What happens to my details when I book?
Booking uses Calendly, which collects your name and email so the appointment can be confirmed. Those details are used to arrange and hold the call, and nothing else. They are never sold or shared for marketing.
